I started the initial branding for Busi before deciding on the name for certain. I experimented with the underlying message of growth for the user’s business, which is why the logo took the shape of a flower/plant. I used the letter “b” from the word mark and turned it into a few versions of a plant. I wanted to create a simple logo mark that worked effectively when multiplied or used as a repeating pattern.
The most successful option from the above trials was the bottom second last option, according to me and a few peers, it has the best composition while still being simple and memorable. After choosing, I decided to try it out as a pattern as I originally wanted it to work. This worked well and gave off a sense of community as it looked like a hedge or a connection of plants in a way. A sense of community and togetherness is what I want my service to represent, so this was a successful outcome.
Purple- I chose purple as the primary colour as many business-orientated apps utilise the colour blue for trustworthiness, I wanted to emulate that within my brand while standing out at the same time, so I chose purple as it doesn’t stray too far from the blue tone and also gives the users a sense of creativity as the app is tailored towards creative users.
