I decided to map out the features I plan to add to my service on a feasibility vs value map. This helped me understand which features to focus on, that will be most worthy of my time and which can be omitted if there is not enough time.
Revisiting the functionality of the app version of COLAB, it has been made evident that a dashboard style app is not user-friendly on such a small device, and instead, I will amend it to be inspired by the Microsoft Teams app. This will be much more useful for users on the go.
The features included will be for tasks users aim to accomplish quickly, such as checking messages, the calendar, or reviewing any changes made by the team.
The calendar feature on the app and possibly desktop will be inspired by a combination of Google Calendar and Fantastical Calendar. I have found the Microsoft Calendar (situated within Microsoft Teams, as mentioned previously) to be confusing and unpleasant to look at. Therefore, I found better organised calendars that lay events out in a more understandable and easy-to-digest manner. The colour-coded events are mainly what I aim to implement in my own calendar to ensure organisation.
